Happy Easter!

He has risen!

We had a great time this weekend with my parents in town from Ohio. For Easter we went to Hope's service at the Carpenter Center, which was amazing. Then we had a great ham dinner complete with Smitten Kitchen's homemade green bean casserole.  So good. I was super nervous cooking ham for the first time, but it turned out great! I really want to try Tyler Florence's tangerine sage ham next time.

The girls loved Easter and spending it with Momma and Poppa and hunting for their Easter baskets and ham. We have a tradition now that we hide their baskets like my parents and Brandon's parents did growing up. We also hid Easter eggs.

I think my takeaway from the service today was the fact that Christ makes all things new. He take the broken things in our lives and makes them complete.

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead... (NIV)
