Walk it off

What do you eat in the spring and summer? Around these parts it's simple food, with a slight twist for Brandon and I, that we know the kids will eat!

Last night we had hamburgers and french fries, but I added hot pepper cheese and sirachi to my ketchup for the fries. Sirachi ketchup is highly addictive and so good! You have to try it.

Since I am in "lose those last baby pounds" before our July beach trip, I am trying to eat a little more healthy.

Skip desserts and eat fruit.

Walk after dinner.

Try to run 3-4 times per week and cycle 1-2 days (with sick kids this is an ever moving target:)).

Yesterday I ran around 2 miles on the treadmill and then ran into a friend and walked for 2.5 more on the treadmill! And then I walked a mile before dinner (best kid-destressing) and we took a 1.5 family walk, including sprints with my crazy fast girls.

Ava kicked my butt. She is so fast, which is why she does so great at the vault in gymnastics.

But a treat every now and then is fun. How cute are these strawberry margaritas from Eat Live Run blogger Jenna Weber? They would be perfect for Friday night patio parties.

And you could simply do a strawberry lemon aid if you preferred.

I really enjoy mason jars for drinks during the summer. They keep ice tea and lemon aid really cold and fresh. These are great option for kids because they feature lids.
