Apple painting wrapping paper

Ryder loves to grab these rods and stuff them in his shirt like he is a pirate with a sword.
Such a big boy at 2~

We called this hairstyle the "Sophie" since she is going to wear it like this on her first day of kindergarten.

Homemade apple painting wrapping paper

To save money and add in a fun activity, we made some fun wrapping paper for Ava and Sophie's friends parties. We just cut an apple in half and used tempera paint to make fun circles and patterns. Tie with a burlap ribbon and top with candy!

I got back from getting lost on my run Saturday adding in miles to my route (yes, i have a horrible sense of direction in our neighborhood and rely on Sarah for my running routes) and came home to find my sweet mom and dad had shipped tomatoes and squash from their garden in Ohio. It was so sweet it almost made me cry! I blanched them and marked the bottoms with and "x" and then took them out and blended them after removing the skins. And added them to a pot of sautéed onions, carrots and garlic for spaghetti. So good! Thanks Dad!

Summer tomato goodness

Brandon and I both love to run and usually do long runs on opposite days so we can watch the kids. He is faster so running with him can sometimes be hard for me to not feel bad making him slow. But, it's just about having run and getting the milage in right?! He did seven this week -- great job!

Taco Tuesday Inspiration

Pico de gallo/// fresh mix of chopped tomatoes + garlic + fresh lime + cilantro + kosher salt

P.S. This is addicting and may make you devour a whole bowl in 24 hours!

Make some yummy homemade pico de gallo and add to your favorite beef or chicken taco mix.

Ditch the envelope mix and add in your own spices like cumin, chili powder, 2 minced garlic cloves and salt and pepper, along with 1/2 cup of fresh pico de gallo from your chips and salsa! It makes your tacos have some serious fresh taste!
