Summer Days!

It's 7:30 am on a warm mid-June day.

My kids have already had breakfast.

Done intricate artwork involving two mediums.

Eaten breakfast.

Watched TV.

It can be a long day when you don't have plans each day during the summer months. The key for us during the summer is to have a somewhat loose plan for each day.

I always get a little overwhelmed when we have changes to our routine. The kids really loved school and their teacher and leaving school was sad this year. So, I tried to find some fun activities to do each day that will fill the long days!

Here are some fun ideas!

Kids Bowl Free//

This was super easy to access. Just go to their site and enter your information. Bring along you smart phone or the coupon when you go to the bowling center. Kids get two games for free! We chose a Monday and it was only $1 for the shoes!

 Pick Your Own Fruit//
Kids love to pick their own fruit. We love to pick strawberries and blueberries!
Make Homemade Popsicles//
I purchased these molds from Amazon and filled them with a smoothie mix and chocolate milk. We found that the Kroger chocolate milk is the best! It's a great post-workout treat. I also like these silicon molds for kids!
 Community Activities //

We got to see a fun juggler at Sophie's school. Local summer fairs are a fun way to be apart of your community!

Our neighborhood movie night! So fun watching "Lego Movie" outside under the stars. Ava and Sophie loved the ice cream truck there! Ava was running around with her friends when we took this picture.

Water play//

We love to have happy hour down at the lake. We just let the kids play and have adult conversation since they are so busy playing.

A little summer living room that is just gorgeous.

Ava is actually on team for gymnastics, but gymnastic or ballet camps are great for kids.
 Outdoor Malls//

 Tour Your Statehouse//

The Rotunda at the Ohio Statehouse

Ohio Statehouse with Ava
Water Anything! //

Summer Movie Express Days//

Our local movie theater features one dollar movie days for older movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There are long lines, but it moves fast! What a great idea since it can get pretty hot in Virginia.

What are your favorite summer activities?
